It's never too early for Big4 to recruit... In elementary schools now? Oiy vey
We are targeting sophomores now, too, which is insane because they haven't even taken intermediate accounting yet. What is this world coming to?
I hate when I ask a candidate "tax or audit" and they tell me they haven't taken either class yet. Then we give them an offer anyway. *face palm*
I didn't even decide on an accounting until the end of my sophomore year and had I applied with the current recruiting structure, I would've been way too late
Exactly! Wish my social security withholding was only 1% like it was for them! No wonder it's so hard to save now.
My office filled about 95% of our intern spaces with kids from the sophomore program. And then fills 98% of the full time spots with interns. So basically if you're not in by late fall/winter of sophomore year, your chances of getting in are so slim.
So what we do is make them take 5 years to get the degree, but we hire them during their second year. Weird.
I didn't decide on accounting until after obtaining an undergrad in something else and then realizing I didn't want to do law school. I'm quite glad, though, because that's how I ended up at Moss Adams.
As long as we can convince gen Z to give us their money life will be fine. That's what the boomers/silent generation/gen x have done to us and it seems to be working for them.
Gen x is one of the smaller generations compared to the boomers and millennials. Gen x had to pay for the boomers which is a much much larger group and gen x are still working they are not old enough to retire yet
