GUIDANCE NEEDED
I am a Devops/SRE with 12 YOE and work on technologies like AWS, GCP, containers, kubernetes, distributed systems, Ansible, terraform, splunk, Prometheus, grafana, scripting in bash and python. I have never been in a software development role.. I want to prepare and try for SRE role in Google. I want to know if google considers people for SRE roles who do not have any development experience.. or in other words, are there roles specifically for system SRE or Platform/Infra SRE..

In the future, after a few years, let’s say I’m at a small company and want to switch to big big company, will the “small names” hurt my chance to get into the big doors?

So...I started my own company in 2018. Things went off like a ROCKET. Its a small Remodeling company and we specialize in higher end bathrooms and kitchens etc. I love working with my hands. I also have my education though and...I am going to return to tech work. I just wonder..when is enough enough? When do you pull the plug?

I do sales for a major engineering firm. Focused on new business and exploring new markets. Last year I was in the top 50% for order intake, and first in number of projects won along with number of new customers. I think this is extraordinary given the effort it takes to win new business.

For next year my goal increased by 2.5X, and less of what I bring in counts towards that target. I really enjoy my job but I will essentially be getting a large pay cut. Lost in what to do besides quit??
