If you get fired from big law, how likely is a firm to be vindictive re recommendations etc

Sign-on Bonuses, is it typical for a company to ask for a re-payment agreement? i.e. 100% if leave/fired within 12 months, 50% if leave/fired within 24 months?

For recruiters, hiring managers, HR, or anyone with past experience — if I’ve been laid off (startup financial problems) and I’ve set my LinkedIn to “open to work,” should I also post something that says I’m looking? I saw someone post their resume + open to work and asked people to share with their network, and while I’m not willing to be quite that vulnerable, it made me wonder if there’s value in a post like that.

Recently accepted an offer at Twitter (I haven’t resigned yet thankfully) and of course have yet to hear back since the news of the layoffs.

Am I crazy to move forward if the offer isn’t rescinded? I’m deflated after many rejections, unhappy in my current role and the role is something I’m passionate about - I’m also no better off in terms of TC and frustrated since there will be no RSU package due to the acquisition.

I have very mixed feelings after how they treated their staff this week!

I have been working in the field for 4 years and while I love the field—I am tired of it. So I just recently got laid off and I want to know how to get into SAAS? Should I take a SDR/BDR role or could I cut it as an AE? 4 years in a closing role, no SAAS experience, but I do understand how close sales and work a pipeline. Also, would certs. Help me get into a AE SAAS role more easily?

I’m feeling very unfulfilled 60 days into my job. Like I’m not proud of the work I’m doing, I’m getting no training, and genuinely my manager has turned out to be not great. I’m trying hard to ride it out as I had to take this job out of a layoff and it just has snowballed into something very different then what was in the description. Looking for a career pivot.

An engineer by graduation, but worked in sales and business development for 15 years. Life just happened and didn't get on the IT train. Things were good before the pandemic but then got laid off. Have been upskilling and reskilling since then in data analytics, RPA and some product management.

Pretty much will be almost like starting a new career from scratch.

So I’m training my counterpart in India to do a similar role to what I’m doing now. I’m assured of a promotion in the next 3 months but they just stopped hiring my position in the US.
