Hi everyone,
I have been in the job market from last 4-5 weeks since I was laid off from Microsoft as a recruiter. My experience is not great as I have applied for more than 75 jobs with the organisations I am interested in for the roles which are in mid level considering I have 5 years of experience. I am targeting for about CAD 90-110k annually and I am located in Toronto, Canada. Do you feel things will pace up this month and my expectations are reasonable?
History of BCG layoffs anyone?

There is no shame or stigma in getting laid off; it happens to the best of us. Don't lie in interviews. Ex employer's policies notwithstanding, it is not unusual for prospective employers to check back channels to get the real scoop.
Just take the high road in interviews, and give it a positive spin. You enjoyed your time at xyz, you learned a tremendous amount, and you forged some lasting friendships. You received positive feedback and reviews, and you understand that being downsized was just business, and you don't take it personally. Etc., etc. Good luck to you. You will land on your feet.
Completely agree with what P1 just said. Don't dig yourself a hole you can't climb out of. NFL players get released all the time. It what you can do for the new employer that matters.
Yay P1. Perfect answer!
