Depends on your personal goals, but in general I've seen exits as a young manager work out really well (after around 1-2 yrs as manager)
I recently left as a 3rd year manager for director of strategy at $15+b global CP company...exp. manager is a pretty good spot to exit. Could have waited for SM, but i doubt exit would have been much better unless I waited a few years + promo, but then might as well stick it out for partner
Manager and Sr are the most common exits.....
I’ve always been told M is easier/better than SM. No idea if it’s true or not
M seems to be the sweet spot. Industry seems to reward folks with a level or two bump when coming from the big firms. (Tbf, I’ve heard of some intriguing offers at the SC level too.)
It feels like at SM you may as well stick around and try to make PMD.
Bummer. This is consistent with what I heard but I’m honestly too lazy to start thinking about what I really want to do outside consulting. No desire to be partner lol
