Layoff going on in Synechron ?
I recently interviewed for L7 EM at Google and had 4 great interviews and one not so great system design. I submitted external referrals all of which gave great feedback. The recruiter said the next step is team match/interviews and then the HC. Anyone in a similar situation? What was the result? Google

Try to get some insight on what it is like to work for this firm. Was this an in person interview? Did you notice what the environment was like when you walked in? Did you see any smiling faces welcoming you when you walked in? If everyone was sulking and looked depressed it is not a good sign. On the other hand they may have been working on a deadline and maybe anxious to get the interview out of the way.
It was an in person interview - my 3rd. The 2nd interview was suppose to be in person, but the secretary scheduled a virtual interview. They texted me the same day to come in-person. So, I agreed. The receptionist looked pleasant. The folks I saw seemed relaxed. It was hard to tell. I did not feel good about the interview. It will be a week tomorrow and I haven't heard a thing.
Yes. When I had my first interview at my current firm, it was the head of HR, and two of the attorneys I would be assigned to. Back then I thought it was a great opportunity to interact with the attorneys and It was very proactive.
I am now a paralegal manager at this firm and my view has changed. Especially since I assist in the hiring process and know that HR has no clue about what goes into practicing law.
Our interviewing process (and environment) also dramatically changed. When interviewing paralegals, HR asks myself and the other girls to all be at the interview. She tries to explain to the interviewee that we are all a big family and put up a united front when she has consistently sabotaged and abused everyone. It gets very awkward because most of the paralegals in the interview keep their heads down and are afraid to talk to the interviewee.
Our head of HR then has us write a report about how we think the interview went and she writes her own based on our evaluation and sends it to the boss.
Before and after the interviews, she goes as far as to divulge personal information of the person we are interviewing and then gossips about them. Rather than hiring experienced, knowledgeable people, we end up hiring her friends or family.
We have been extremely short staffed for months and actually stopped interviewing because it takes too much of her time. In the end, I think it’s a red flag and I’d run.
There’s your sign….. run!
My 3rd and final interview was with the entire legal "team". It ended up being HR + all 4 attorneys from the US team and 15 attorneys from the European offices. It was like a bad episode of Hollywood Squares. They took over the entire monitor screen. I've never had so many faces looking at me at once or been so intimidated. Come to find out i was the only paralegal they planned to have. Only one person even asked me questions & that was the Senior US attorney thay would also be my boss. We'd already interviewed 1 on 1 in round #2 so the whole thing was either an intimidation tactic or a dog & pony show so the entire team would feel like they had input in the hiring process. I did get the job but within 4mo they changed CEO's, changed rhe company name, implemented a quarterly production framework & completely revamped the legal dept deciding they didn't need a paralegal (or 75% of US attys) after all. They've fully embraced AI over educated humans. Absolute insanity & such a waste of everyone's time. I was blindsided and back to job hunting again trying to figure out how to explain a 4mo stint on my CV
Uhhhhhh!
Oh wow that is a lot of people in an interview. I have not experienced that before. I am so sorry that happened to you.
Sounds like a bad office environment. Usually they would let you know it’s a bad time or something is going down and reschedule. Might be a blessing you never heard back.
I agree with the others...Run! If the interview process is that chaotic imagine how the day to day operations function.
