Has anyone ever faced the phenomenon of being asked to leave right after putting in your notice? This is my personal nightmare and just happened to a friend. If they say you need to give a month's notice should that not mean that you get a month??

Specialist roles aside, such as digital, when you see someone describing themselves as a “generalist marketer” is this a resume you’d pass on? So I've been applying for jobs with various brands who are owned by the same parent company. They are all separate brands but owned by the same company. All my applications are under one login with the parent company's website. My question is, can HR and recruiters from the different brands see all my open applications (including those with the other brands) or just the ones that concern the brand they work for?
