Possibly neither. Dream jobs are fickle, and fulfilling jobs rarely pay well. Remember to find things outside of the job for this.
What I didn't realize was the realities of working life. I thought I would get so much fulfilment from choosing a career I would "love". The reality is that I'm still spending a huge amount of my waking hours doing something I have no say in, and receive very little recognition for, just to pay bills. I wish I had of known that work is just...work, and I would have been more strategic about my choice.
I kind of stopped thinking of dream job and started thinking of dream lifestyle and company culture
I don’t think I’ve ever thought about what a dream job would be for me. I will say being remote and constantly relaxed is some sort of a dream for me
I’m doing my dream job but it’s definitely not as glamorous as I thought it’d be! I still enjoy it but there are so many frustrating aspects to it that I wasn’t anticipating
Chief
I pivoted from my old dream to a new one
It’s nice
Only a few wasted years but I’m much happier now
Also much better pay
Too ironic; a tragic romance; imagine dreaming of your dream partner (based solely on looks and economics); then waiting for years and actually landing a relationship, only to find out that are either completely miserable or totally insufferable (intolerable). I don’t know how to advise you…maybe learn to make it fulfilling in some way or make a plan to switch careers.
