I have a couple freelance gigs I landed on Upwork. They both pay really well and have given me flexibility and extra cash. It is definitely something worth looking into.
One idea that worked for me is reaching out to small businesses or startups that need sales help but can’t hire full-time; you can offer flexible contract work, cold outreach, or even lead generation. Also, check out platforms like Upwork or LinkedIn for freelance sales gigs, and tap your network for referrals. Sometimes, a casual chat leads to your next project. Hang in there; you’ve got skills that are always in demand!
I have a background in journalism, so I've done some freelance writing. But I'm not really sure what freelancing in sales would look like. I can't even picture it in my mind, lol. Do you have any other skills to fall back on? When my husband was laid off, he did some auto detailing to make extra money.
Potentially look into consulting work, maybe startups that need help. Freelancing can be some trial and error. Start and learn your way through, and make sure you are keeping detailed records of your work and the money you are bringing in.
Upwork or Bravado, I've never actually seen any other fractional role that wasn't a scam.
Honestly, if push comes to shove, property managers LOVE bringing on part-time and full-time leasing agents. The job is pretty laid-back and you'd have plenty of time to fire off applications...
