Has anyone never heard back from Husch Blackwell after submitting an application? It's been a few weeks since I've submitted my application (via LinkedIn) and I haven't heard anything. I just wanted to know if I should expect to at least receive a rejection email if they decide to not move forward with my candidacy or if they're more likely to ghost in that case.

I've been thinking about going for one of their positions so I'll be curious to see what responses you get

I applied to The Link. I think applying for The Link might decease your chances though because they have additional eligibility requirements it. I'm not 100% sure though but something to keep in mind if you do end up applying

Following.

Husch typically only sends rejection emails if you listed someone you know as a referral. They also can be extremely slow to review applications and schedule interviews, so if it’s only been a couple of weeks I wouldn’t count yourself out.

I didn’t have a referral but I was able to talk to one of their partners that work in the department I applied to after I submitted my application. It was more of an informal meeting and nothing to do with my candidacy. But it did sound like they’re in desperate need of more associates for the department so hopefully they’ll at least be quick to review (and give me an update).

I have not ever heard back from HB. I’ve applied to two different roles there in the past 4 years.

That’s super frustrating. Idk why firms can’t at least send a generic template rejection email to applicants.

I heard back eventually when I didn’t get the role, but it took a while to receive the rejection, like a few weeks

Yes I had an internal referral from someone I went to law school with.

Did you get an automated email confirming they received your application? Asking in case there is some issue with applying via LinkedIn. When I applied for a position with them, the LinkedIn link automatically directed me to the firm website to apply. I never received a rejection (and it’s been almost a year, so safe to say I was rejected lol), but I did get a confirmation email that the app was received

Ah yeah def could just be them being slow!

Can a newspaper use my photo without my consent?

I'm not a reporter, I'm just a citizen who took a picture during an event and uploaded it to my social media account. Turns out a digital media wrote me to have permission to use my picture, and when I said yes, they said they were looking for some other picture because I had already given permission to the competitors, which I didn't.
They just posted it without asking me, letting me know, or even mentioning my credits. Is this legal?

Burned out in current role. 10-plus years post-MBA experience in Corp Fin role unable to move up to Director due to lack of "scope" - limited to no opps. Currently, work 40-50 hours week (minimal to no weekends) and earn ~250 TC. Work day is "intense" - many quick turnaround projects from task to task.

Is it worth shopping around? Can I get promo to Director level at another Tech company, earn more and still maintain same level of hours (limited weekend work)? Less intense days possible?

How often do you respond to emails from law students who want to learn about your firm/practice area? I get like a dozen requests right around OCI every year. Frankly I’m tired of speaking to them and answering the same boring questions, especially if I know they have a low GPA and no chance of summering at my firm, but I do feel bad saying no/ignoring them
