I actually started getting into cooking—trying out new recipes and experimenting with different cuisines, which has been surprisingly rewarding and a great way to stay creative, I’ve also gone down a few internet rabbit holes, and learned random things just for the fun of it.
I started walking more. I've always enjoyed walking for exercise, but when I had more time on my hands I extended my daily walks. Now I walk for at least an hour a day, going between three and four miles. It gives me a chance to think, and to listen to podcasts and music. I was thinking of doing a concentrated thing with Spotify, like listen to a classic album I haven't listened to in ages each day. But I haven't gotten that organized yet.
Home automation is my latest obsession. I have a smart vacuum, smart lights, door sensors, an alarm system, smart plugs. It's a lot of fun seeing all the different automations you can create. I created a morning routine in the Alexa app that turns my wax melter and lights on 10 minutes before I need to wake up, so I wake up gradually in a good smelling bedroom. Stupid, but it's fun playing around with and I've got the time for it so 🤷🏼♀️
