They do this to check your passport in my experience

like

Yes, recently. Group of us split between JetBlue and delta. When I called delay they said some international destinations required that they check passport at the airport to check in.

like

Yes and I had the dreaded SSSS (extra security check) on my boarding pass.

Ooh, the super secret spicy special. My favorite! (not)

As PM1 says - I’ve had this before if they want to check passports/visas ahead of boarding

Also to check vaccine certifications/testing results if applicable

Yes they do it even with the VeriFLY app because they need forms filled out for the US return. Just had this happen FCO-DFW last week.

like

Have to go up the counter, they need physical docs signed and attestation forms. It takes literally an extra 5 minutes tops, even less using the priority counter

OK I appreciate the information. My American Airlines app it said that I could check in online. But when I went to do it it said that this cannot be completed and had to be in person

Appreciate the info, thank you

I had to check-in person so they could check my Covid testing info and passenger locator form for London. I don’t think you can use a kiosk. The VeriFLY app is very useful, but doesn’t cover every country

On Verifly, were you able to verify your documents? I emailed my immigration form to them and emailed me Saturday they cannot be matched

Yes, even to mexico

It’s become the same for European airlines as well — they check that you meet Covid requirements

I have had this even before covid. It’s just to do with restrictions from destination usually, but def give yourself extra time bc there’ll probably be others who have to check in at the desk too from your flight and lots of people will be grumpy and confused so I always try to get there early and avoid the crowd!

Hi, I'm an employee at a hotel chain who works remotely. I've been working remotely for over a year now and I love it! The company I work for is very supportive of remote workers, which is great.

But there's one thing that's been bothering me: it's hard to get feedback on my work when I'm not in the office. It would be great if there was some kind of system that let me know how my performance was being evaluated while I'm working on projects from home.

(1/2) I started a new job less than a month ago at a large firm with a significant pay increase. I work remotely- which is a special arrangement. They paid for my travel to their headquarters for in-person training. After interacting with my manager and some of the attorneys, I feel like I made a mistake. Manager is demeaning and rude. A bunch of the attorneys dropped not so subtle hints that people who work from home are causing all kinds of problems. I don’t know what to do.

I am done with my client interview and it went well but they are asking me to come to gugaon location.
I am from Bangalore location.
I directly said to client that I can't since I have my family here.
When I inform this to my manager he is saying how come u say like this to client.according to kpmg policy u need to travel to anywhere to work.
This is not good right. What should be my reply to the client in such a case and how to handle manager on this?

Hi Fishes,

I got an offer from PwC. The joining date that I had agreed from my side was 2 June. But I don't know that even in probation the NP is 90 days (it was mentioned in the release doc as 1 month but I didn't take that screenshot as proof). I told the whole issue to my recruiter and she sent a confirmation mail stating that she will revise my joining date by 90 days without issue. Is there any chance they can revoke the offer? I have put down my papers already.

I’ve been told that cold applying and making no contacts is usually not going to lead to anything, and that’s been true in my experience. But should I reach out to someone first? Should i apply and then email someone? In HR? Or someone who’d be directly supervising me? Or someone at my level? And what should i say? Thanks!
