Oh so they never believed in it to begin with.
K&L Gates is getting the business by at least one General Counsel, a white woman, on LinkedIn for removing its diversity commitment from its website with a warning that GC’s are watching to determine who will be their vendors. I truly like to think that this is a hopeful sign, but the shocking all campaign of failed up mediocre fascism that we are being blitzed with, along with the “private“ MAGA force blocking federal Congress persons from even entering government buildings, has me rightfully concerned. The true way to show allyship would be the white GC‘s, CEOs and law firm managing partners to step up. This is not our fight, or rather, our obligation to do so.

For those who practice, DEI is supposed to be rooted in your organization and a part of your culture that is enhanced in the work that you do. It's not something you can erase in a day on your website or stop immediately by signing a document as it takes time to change WHO YOU ARE. If your organization has been able to erase it in the 3 or so weeks since January 20th then don't worry, You're not losing anything. They were not actually practicing but just ticking a box to shut you up.
