I'm in finance/tech FPA, looking to go back to the defense industry for a 25% increase in TC. But wanted to see if I should leverage the new salary with current company to see if they'll match.

I just got a job offer for an Entry Level Software Engineer at Boeing in Saint Louis. The salary is $82,000 with an $8,000 sign on bonus. I was hoping for an offer closer to 90k base and I don’t care too much for a sign on bonus. However, this is a lot more than what I’m making now, and would be my first SWE job. Should I counter? Let’s say your original TC in your current is 300k, but because of stock appreciation, your actual TC now is 500k (same base, same bonus, but stock appreciated). When negotiating with new company, will the new company consider your TC as 500k, or 300k? Thanks

I got a decent deal on a small 1 bed in a luxury building (hell’s kitc). Should I do a 12 month lease or 24m?

Got the rent negotiated to under 3k + free amenities for a year (gym, pool, etc.). I’m afraid rent will atleast go back to the original price (+5%) and then some. The building has some sort of rent control but that’s predicted to go away in less than 1 year as per the lease. The legal rent limit is way higher.
