Have you ever accepted a job offer without negotiating the salary? Would you do it again?

I did that years ago. The company made an offer and it sounded fine to me, so I just accepted it. To be honest, at the time I really needed a job and I was just happy to get in the door. I later thought I should have tried to negotiate for a little more, but things worked out pretty well so I didn't have major regrets over it. I probably wouldn't do that again, but it would depend on the situation, if an offer was really good I may not see the point of rocking the boat.

Thanks for sharing that. I feel it’s easy to just accept when we really need to pay them bills!

I have accepted a salary without negotiating, and I would potentially do it again. To add more context, they asked what I wanted, gave them my numbers, and that’s what they offered. I can’t say much against that.

That’s great! I wish it was more like that sometimes. Do you ever think they’d give you more of you said more though?

I did. I switched from in person high stress to remote for similar pay and was happy enough with the switch to feel comfortable

Oh - that sounds great!!

Yes, twice. First time it was a 30% increase. This last time, $50k.

Yes, I’d do it again.

CFO1 - that sounds like a good jump. I’d be happy with that too!

Hi all,
I wanted to know if anyone was having issues with their pharma branded Instagram accounts? My brand’s account was fine yesterday and now when you search it it’s not on IG. It’s a business account so it’s fully public. I reached out to a few brand managers and it’s hit or miss on if they’re brand is found. Cleared caches, incognito browser, and all. I’m not sure if IG is down or if something changed with IG and pharma accounts.

Start each class with a few seconds of stillness. It takes consistent practice. Most students will blurt something silly out after about 4 seconds. Expect it and smile. After time is up ask students to notice what they were doing during that time. No shame. Notice and strive to be more still next.

Started a new job a year ago, high performer. My manager suggested a promotion to Product Manager since that‘s the work I’m doing, but that would be a 50% raise. Higher ups decided instead to make a “new role” (not PM), that has no analog in the company and is hard to price via Glassdoor, etc. I feel like this is to limit my promotion salary to something like 10% from where it currently is. Is there anything I can do? FWIW: I have a PhD from top 5 program and am working in that field. Thanks!

I’ve been approached my by company that one of our large clients (who im currently project managing for) is looking for a consultant of sorts, and if they hire us, I’d be the first person asked to take on this consultant role. This isn’t something my company typically offers and would greatly change the scope of my role. Has anyone ever taken on a role like this? If so, were you able to negotiate a percentage of the consulting fee? Or was it a bump in salary during the project?

Do you still have opportunity to negotiate salary when you’re going thru a recruiter and they tell you the range upfront?

Should I Go Back and Reneg? Recently I was offered a role as a Project Implementation Manager (In Retirement Services) .The salary range for Colorado residents was 65-89K. I’m located in NY so the recruiter said he would try to get me more. Ultimately he came back at 90K which is a bit inline with that I was seeing on Glassdoor but approx looks like I may leave 10-12K on the table. I accepted already but may get an offer from another HR company in account management around 90-100K. Need advice

I’m currently in a lease admin type role, in commercial real estate. I make a base salary of $50.5K with about $9k in bonuses. I’ve continuously received 7-10% raises over the last 3 years. I anticipate getting a promotion this year and would like to get closer to $60k for my base salary. I’m the only person in my role at the company and have been a key person in developing our team as we look to expand. Is this unreasonable? Is there a normal increase given with promotions? Thanks in advance!

When I negotiated my comp, all my discussions were around me being a junior and I only accepted my comp for that reason (would not have accepted if I was step above junior since it was low). Negotiations happened with HR, but my offer letter and documents never mention junior (but I have proof from HR saying I am a junior). How do I approach this with my boss as I’m not sure she’s aware I’m actually technically a junior? Revolving around asking for a move up + raise
