I feel you! Is it possible to just not “announce” the new boundaries you set? Could you slowly work towards your new normal? A lot of places slow down with the holidays so it may be right around the corner.
Set your boundaries and make yourself happy. People will not change and being miserable is not helping you.
Just start working less. Don’t volunteer for every project. Focus on the ones that will make the most impact at your work. You will be more creative and have better solutions if you are not burnt out. Block time in your schedule, daily, to protect it from meetings so you can do work during the work day.
I’m not against sending the occasional chat or email from my phone early or late to keep up that (hustle) appearance, but I definitely work less the higher I go. I do what my superiors expect at a pace that works so I don’t overdo it.
