Hey OP! I don’t think you can overthink something that impacts your livelihood.
I’ve never worked for Accenture, but I think you’re smart to have those concerns. I would weigh the Accenture offer with your current job. If it’s something you just can’t refuse, I would recommend you take it. Cloud is hot (i’m assuming the market is similar to the US) and you seem like the type to keep your skills sharp.
If your current offer is not all that great and it’s just lateral. Or you are pretty content with your current company, I would hold off. Bigger firms are known for letting people go just to make their numbers. Accenture’s fiscal year ends Aug 31.
What you might try is expressing your concerns to the recruiter. See if they will give you a severance package you would be comfortable with.
Congrats on the offer!
Many thanks!
OP - I would say all are valid concerns but outside of your control. ACN is a better brand than NTT and will give you better exit options eventually. Cloud is a hot space and totally worth getting into (if you are not already in it).
If you are currently in a dead-end role, and you have to choose between ACN (Cloud Role) vs. NTT (Cloud?) at comparable pay, its pretty much a no-brainer to choose ACN at this point.
Use the time at ACN to get some cloud certifications/build your skills and network. Worry less about potential layoffs etc. as that is a function of the economy and project pipeline / org policy decisions, what's in your control is focusing on your skillset and contributions and how you choose to showcase it.

Congrats OP!! You’ll do great I’m sure!!
Congratulations! What is a probation period? I don't quite understand how the covid climate relates to your working in the Accenture cloud consulting practice though--wouldn't any job have a covid climate to deal with?
Thank you! Typo sorry, I meant probationary period rather than probation period. Regarding COVID climate - it’s just a general apprehension around uncertainty due to COVID (project/ budget cut from customers). I am told that Accenture (like any other consulting/ service company) has a strict low or no bench policy, so I am worried about joining and going to the bench and fending for myself. Am I overthinking?
