Career dev advice needed. Being offered a promotion (would be reporting to my current skip and managing/growing a team). The role is global subsidiary management/governance. But the work does not appeal to me, I’ve been doing some of it and it’s so much admin and people management. I’m not practicing law at all. Love my current IC role and manager, get to work on strategic transactions and closer to the business. If my goal is head of corp legal one day, should I suck it up and go for it? Thnx!

Any tips on leaving a firm “correctly”? Was about to go “of counsel” with my firm of 6 years, but then another firm whose partners I really respect (and personally like) offered me a partnership position. They have limited quota every year, and are very choosy when it comes to allocation. Preference is first given to EU nationals and then Asians during shortlist stage.
