I said no to work after 9PM.
DAC here. Hired 6 months back but got put on PIP for 4 weeks. I was told that PIP is usually after 2,3 bad reviews and duration is approx 3 months. I excelled at my other job before this. IIT Bombay grad here with previous work experience at Bain. Got 2nd highest rating at bain for past 2 years. Nevertheless, already told by manager in 2 weeks that CO is for sure. Its a predecided outcome. Why raise doubt and scar someone for life? ZS Associates P’s & APs
Sorry to hear this! You absolutely don’t deserve this! Your Alma Mater is the mother of all, ZS will learn it’s lesson after such a behaviour ! I am sure you will get past this successfully, all the best👍👍👍

I am an associate here and was placed on a PIP right after the first cycle for a trivial reason. Since then, I’ve struggled to focus and, honestly, haven’t been productive. In my previous job, I worked alongside high-caliber peers from top IIMs and was a top performer. Here, however, I am experiencing significant self-doubt and mental distress.

OP - You are correct on all of the points. I myself raised these when I was working on my project where onshore wasn't doing much. My manager told me that I needn't extend more than required and he'll ensure that the work gets picked up onshore. The short term solution for this is to just limit your working hours to 8-9 by taking breaks in the middle because there is no quick solution to this. There might be times when even between the 5-9 overlap calls might not be possible hence late nights are acceptable then. In this case instead of just saying no you should've moved around your work hours to comply with everyone and raise the issues later on. This is what I did and it has gotten resolved now, where I don't have to sit post 8.
Why did you join ZS after BAIN, that too being an IIT grad ? It’s a downgrade tbh.

What is a CO ?
For Consultant , its 12 weeks for pay which can be availed at once or as part of standard payroll
On a similar boat as you even though I have stayed for a longer time more than 2 years. Dont take this on your self esteem. The reason is purely not performance based.

There are a lot of good reasons to cut down on the Consultant layer. Not saying C3 deserved it but there are some Consultants which should be just COed. C3 ke sath Bura hua
It's because they expect everyone to work for longer hours. More than 14 hours they consider good efforts.

Did you always say no to work after 9 PM? Did you ensure that your project is going well even if you don't put longer hours? I usually say no to work after 8 as well, but when it's necessary I do aur late and get the work done.
PIP - Please Increase Pay by switch. This is destiny’s way of telling you to progress.
Move on. No point doing anything else. Try to go back to Bain if needed.
