Go for it!!! We need more doctors!!!
start studying for the mcat now and take it about april you junior year
Do you have any tips or websites that you wohld recommend for studying for the mcat? I graduate high school with my associates so I am already in my Junior year
As a premed student myself… study for the MCAT, as acing it will look good. However, make sure that you do other things in the medical field. Working as an undergraduate researcher for a university or hospital looks great, especially if your research team publishes a paper that you contributed to. Research will also help you network, as you tend to meet professionals with their PhDs or are practicing physicians; these are the people who you really want letters of recommendation from, so if you get into a research program, be professional, respectful, and try to impress them.
Volunteering at a hospital tends to help, and so does working some basic hospital jobs, but medical schools don’t seem to really value them as much. For instance, while volunteering or working as an ED tech can still carry weight on your resume, it may not carry as much weight as a published research paper or a letter of recommendation from a respected physician.
Make sure that you complete ALL of your premed classes, try to join a premed club at your university if it’s available, and good luck with OChem.
