Hello All, I have offer in hand of 27.5 LPA+15% variable from ZS Associates as a BT Solutions delivery consultant and now my current company is ready to retain me by matching the offer & assuring that they will send me onsite to UK in couple of months. Now I am in a dilemma of what to do as I have been looking for onsite opportunities for my entire career so far. Kindly share your thoughts. I was interviewed at EY UK on 7th Sep. It was quite smooth. Since then I haven't heard anything back from them though interviewer claimed SLA to get back with outcome of interview is 48 hours. On portal it still says I'm in hiring team phase. It was level 1 interview.
Should I take this delay as rejection?

Yeah it really needs to be two first names though, used as if neither of you had last names at all, preferably with some kind of yin yang cadence in order to be successful. Mork and Mindy come to mind.
Haha we have a quippy name that uses our initials but it actually never came up in the interview process. The most important part of branding yourself as a team is having good work you’ve done together and it feeling like you have a rapport when you interview together.
I love a good team. Baked in chemistry is hard to come by.
I totally agree! I was a musician before moving to advertising and that really really applies with anything creative! You really can’t beat that baked in chemistry and I think it’s great that the advertising world sees that and is open to teams who may posses that chemistry to make great creative work.
If you have enough work together in your books it isn’t hard to sell yourselves as a team. I’ve seen teams that didn’t have as much work together put together a joint site. During our last job search my AD and I looked independently and also as a team (if people reached out to us solo we’d ask if they were looking for a team but would still pursue it if they weren’t) . It didn’t seem to make a big difference though we ultimately landed a job as a team. We also negotiated together. It does make slipping out for interviews a little more awkward lol.
Thank you so much! This is great advice. We are doing the same thing, applying independently as well as together. I’ve never applied with someone else before so the insight is always appreciated. I’ve never interviewed with another person either so the joke about slipping out is also helpful because that will for sure be a new experience!
What would you call yourselves?
I’m an Art Director and my partner is a Copywriter and we are still trying to figure out the name game lol
What level are you looking for? If this is for a junior position or your first job, you might be better suited to finding an agency role where they'll pair you up with someone (which you can talk about wanting in the interview). If you don't have a partner you already like and work well with it could be tricky to find them out of the blue.
I have a partner I really like and we work well together. Collectively we’ve both been solo until now which is why I was looking for some insight on how applying for jobs as a team differs from solo applications. We are looking for mid level positions as I have agency experience as well as in house art directing experience. My partner doesn’t have as much experience, but I’ve seen their work exceed people I’ve worked with at the agency side and really feel as though a partnership would be a great collaboration of both of our talent... just trying to figure out the best way to brand us!
