Hey all I'm currently a Financial Consultant at Fidelity. Enjoy the work I do, but my life situation is taking me international. Potentially going to live in Oslo, Stockholm, or even Svalbard (remote archipelago in the arctic, north of Norway. I'll likely be out there for the next 4 years. I'm seeking advice on potential remote work that is somewhat relevant to the industry so I can at maintain some work experience in my field until I can come back stateside. Any and all advice or ideas?

If you haven’t already, I would make sure to check FINRA restrictions. For that reason, potentially look into planning, training, maybe contract/freelance work while abroad. Staying in any of those will be easier than having a huge gap, just stay relevant and informed, and should’t be too hard to come back into it.

So I’m engaged in an interview process for a top FinTech company. It started the 1st week of August and just now I’ve gotten word from my recruiter that they didn’t update on any decisions made. I had my 3rd & final interview last Friday. My recruiter doesn’t communicate well nor does she let me communicate with the company direct. May I being led on? Am I still in the race for this role in your opinion with the details stated. Please message me if you would like to know more in detail.

In 2023 I'm wanting to help make my management more effective. So, I'm looking for a book or a couple of books to gift my team this holiday season. I would like books that focus on communication and taking ownership. Any recommendations?

Any other loan officers in here? I'm trying to decide if I should dig in with the current market or look to pivot. I've only been a loan officer since 10/2020. So this is my first rough patch. The style of leads my company provided was different than what they have me doing now. It went from hot inquiries to cold call center calls. My wife makes good money, but I don't want her to carry our finances for long as we are a team. What jobs could I look to pivot to if I pivot? Thanks fishes!

I have two mortgages, one at 3% and one at 4.25%. Is there any benefit to paying either of them slightly higher than the minimum payment requirement (ie, maybe like $200/month more)? Additional factors to consider, my HYSA currently yields 3% and I am looking to buy another property in about 2 years and would prefer to not sell the either of the two properties currently on mortgage.

Should I stay it out and wait for TC to align or take the promotion and jump ship bc I will likely get paid more elsewhere given how recruiters/other companies eat up hiring recently promoted ppl from other firms?

Advice needed on handing in notice, I recently signed an offer letter and understand the screening process takes 4-6 weeks. I have a month's notice period and have agreed a preliminary start date in Feb.

I was planning on not handing my notice in until the checks had been completed so its all secured (not that I think I will fail any checks), but apparently I need a reference from my current employer not previous ones. Can't really do this without handing in notice can I?
