Just shared in the career pivot bowl

Love it! I would also add: make your MVP, lovable. E.g. kick-ass at whatever you do and stand out. Referrals definitely help, but don’t close the offer. Closing a job offer is more about marketing and selling relevant experiences than networking 24/7. Having great metrics to back-up your experiences makes your pitch a lot more sound. Almost analogous to a Shark Tank pitch can’t close an offer without the financial due diligence. Just thought I would add this thought because candidates in this community to be *obsessed* over referrals and are less willing to build their careers.

Such great additions!! If your open to it, would love if you share your thoughts on the post on LI and see if we can get some engagement there. And i think the topic of networking and referrals warrants a post on its own - my creative juices are going :).

But once again not posting

Maybe we should implement something like automatic posts refresh? I got a notification about "someone like mypost" but it isn't displaying at the post title...

Ahh it is posting but into middle of feed as opposed to top.

Living it up in the city.

Lies My Project Manager/Partner Told Me: Go!

Last year, My girlfriend was making 80k while I was making 200k so I took her out to dinners and took care of the groceries etc. Basically made sure it’s an equitable relationship. She got a new job this year and is now making 210k (more than me) but still expects me to pay for all the dinners and groceries. I’ve already talked to her about this but just resulted in argument. Is there any coming back from this situation to make this equitable relationship or is break up the only option here?

135k base and I would like to buy a Porsche. I have 20k in student loans and no other debt. Go for it? I'm not even into cars but every time I’m dashing through the Target parking lot and see one, it’s like love at first sight😍. That is my only justification 😂

Worst city you’ve traveled to for a project? I’ll go first...

Wow. This morning on a quarterly regional all hands an Accenture Managing Director (and leader) had the group stop for a full minute for thoughts and prayers for the president in the first lady in the wake of their coronavirus diagnosis. Not sharing my feelings... Just leaving this there.

What won't you tell me that I should know? Keep in mind I'm one of the only partners on here who actually cares to ask a question like this, so appreciate keeping constructive / not lighting me up!

Anytime I ask a junior person on my team to do something or give her a recommendation, the reply is always something along the lines of “yeah, I know” “yeah, that was the plan anyway”, or “I was already thinking that”. How do I coach this individual to avoid these type of replies? It just comes off as passive aggressive.

As an interviewer, I find it very awkward when an interviewee has on a button-up with a tie and jacket. Heck, even just a button-up. Why do you wear that at home? Put your polo on, relax a little, and don't sit their like a stiff in your apartment bedroom with a fake background.

Title of the book about your life in consulting

So I'm curious, why hasn't one of the big 4 acquired one of the MBBs?
