Hey! Can you explain me the difference between E&I and SWE/devops? And, what do you believe are the main blockers from making this transition? Happy to offer you my network once I better understand the problem.
(continued, crazy thing screwed up my post)
I'm in the middle of converting 20k+ users over 200 offices to a centralized collaboration platform that I designed, deployed, and currently maintain. Puzzles are what I do for a living and software is another aspect of the puzzle.
I take total ownership of a task or project I'm working on and do them successfully. I've worked with over 30 departments in a large hospital to plan and coordinate their moves into a brand new building over the course of 6 weeks and no problems came up. I moved the entire hospital lab in such a way they had zero operational downtime.
Professionally I don't live in the now except for fixing something that breaks, which isn't often. I live in the 3 months, 6months, 1 year in the future to make sure what needs to be done is done correctly and well.
Ideally, I'd like to find an employer who sees opportunity in taking some who has a well rounded skill set and a history of planning and executing projects very successfully and can envision me bringing all that with me to put into my their company. I need guidance on what is important to pursue to have a good solid skill set to present.
I'm also looking for salary advice closer to the transition. All I hear about in forum posts is a level number that does not tell me anything and high salaries for people working at FAANG.
