Hey everyone,

What's the one thing you wish your current workplace genuinely understood or offered to better support women navigating fertility journeys?

Thinking about what truly makes a difference beyond just "talking about it." Curious to hear your thoughts!

In general, I wish my job offered sick days that aren’t lumped into PTO. This may be especially helpful to parents and those trying to become parents, but obviously would be helpful to everyone.

like

That’s great that it can be used for appts

My old job had unlimited sick time and people barely used it but it was nice to know it was there. At this job, 10 of our PTO days have to be taken as two weeks of consecutive vacation, which is nice because it ensures that ppl use their days, but it leaves less flexibility with remaining days.

Longer parental leave for me. Better financial coverage for fertility treatments. And more flexible WFH policies to make it easier to balance work and appointments (and make it easier to hide the appointments, candidly).

like

Real financial coverage for fertility and egg freezing. I’m fortunate in that I currently have good sick leave (unlimited), flexible WFH, and decent parental leave (18 weeks, though longer would be better), but I have hardly any coverage for fertility.

What would you do?
My company contracts a web developer, we have a set amount of hours for the quarter and pay over if more work is needed.
He never gets anything done. Doesn’t answer emails half the time. The one thing he’s done was take out a blurb that threatened our eligibility for patent renewal.
We have another company taking over in January, but I still have some pretty important dev needs until then and I can’t get him to do a thing. I truly try to give him all he needs.

I’m about a month post FET, and after a positive beta I was feeling all of the classic symptoms (like nausea) from like week 5-6. But, this last week the nausea has significantly subsided (though not completely gone). Has this happened to anyone? We have our first ultrasound in a week - so nervous!

Hi Fishies. Im 31 yrs old, spouse 33 yrs old. We are going with IVF due to male factor. Today we got PGT results from CCRM Boston. Among 7 embryos, 5 came normal. 1- 5AA(male), 1-5AA(female),1-4BB(tier2,female),1-4AA(tier1,female), 1-4AA(tier 1, male). What is the best embryo among them? This is my first IVF. And little nervous as well. What could be the reasons if the embryo is not implanted ? Is it something with to do with me? Do we need to do anything from our side, like acupuncture ?

Also, how involved are you REs? I’ve been through 2 retrievals now, but feel kinda in the dark still on a lot of things. Some of the nurses are hit or miss and if I want to talk to my doctor I have to schedule a consultation and its typically a 2 week wait.

Any tips on how to improve lining thickness? My RE had me on Estrace for a week before starting Prometrium (vaginally) a few days ago, but my lining is only a little above 5mm. Looks likely that this FET cycle is going to get canceled (was potentially going to be this weekend) since the lining doesn’t seem to be thick enough. This will be the 3rd transfer cycle that’s getting canceled, it just really sucks...what’s worse is I didn’t see my doctor today, just the sono tech, (cont’d)

To do an ERA or not before transfer is the question. My clinic said currently the recommendation is to only do an ERA with multiple transfer fails, but I’ve read about ERA’s for those with recurrent pregnancy loss as well. Anyone go through this experience?

Retrieval done, 26 eggs later! :) Good luck to all of you with retrievals coming up or are somewhere in the process! Fingers crossed for strong embryos!

Advice and/or consolation anyone? My wife and I (both above average health 30year olds) were trying for 11 months before getting pregnant and then had a week 5 early miscarriage a few months back. If the stress and surprise of just how difficult it apparently is to get pregnant wasn’t enough, the miscarriage put us over. We got back to it and have been trying for the last 2 months again, still no luck. We’re freaking out… all we want is a family. Any similar stories? Advice? 😢

Anyone with stage IV endo and recurring Endometriomas gone on Lupron after egg retrieval? I’m still on birth control but my doc said after egg retrieval (assuming we get a strong embryo), I’d get off of birth control and on lupron for two months before transfer. The reason I’m not getting off of birth control now is because it manages my pain.
