Ever get annoyed at how happy the partners/MDs are at work everyday knowing it’s probably because they’re making $Mlns from the project? If I see one more “Happy Monday so blessed to be at this client” I’m asking for a raise
Has anyone worked for or interviewed at Zenda? I have an interview as a Sr PM and would like to know ahead about culture, pay, benefits, etc…

Got reached out to by a recruiter at McMaster-Carr. Looks concerning from online reviews, but comp package appears to be amazing. Is the horrible culture just for management trainee program? I would not be going into that. How are other groups around the company? Also interested in hear total comp for folks with ~1 year experience if possible. Thanks!
Got a non-paying client we need to avoid? We’ve all had clients who don’t pay their bills. Feel free to list them by name, how much they owe and how long they’re past due. It’s anonymous, after all!
Any consulting firms that actually train their employees? I came from WM industry so consulting was a bit of a culture shock and i wish my company had invested time into training me so I’d be a better consultant. Hoping to make a move elsewhere to a company that spends a few weeks mentoring before putting you on a project.
My firm recently merged with another firm, and it is starting to feel distinctly more “corporate.” All of their decisions are metric-driven now—billables, realization rates, client and matter origination, business development hours. I’m missing the community feeling of the old firm, when I was more than just a number. Any advice on how to adapt? Is this just COVID burnout?
Add this to your reading lists. I’d love to hear your thoughts. : https://www.wsj.com/articles/how-to-disconnect-from-always-on-work-culture-1538740171
Is there a difference of being on the beach and on the bench? My take is that you are on the beach when you roll off a project that has given you a hard time and want to relax a bit. The bench when you really want to be out on a project but cant for som reason. What is you take? Are they just two words for the same thing
Deloitte 🐠, I left about 3 years ago from P&C and now considering leaving my current firm as grow has been a little stagnant. Is the practice doing well? Is culture still grind, grind, grind?
Okay something kind of weird happened. Started a new project today with all new people. We met in person today and manager left for home after checkout around 5PM. Three Associates on my team were planning to get dinner, I said I was going to bail to go workout and eat at home. This girl screams at me in front of the whole floor “you are so fake!! you are not going to workout. you’re being fake.” I’m just standing there in shock like what? She’s like “what are you even going to do at the gym”…
I am in a phase of a project that is 12+ hour days - I know it’s only going to be for a month or so but balancing the smallest of other tasks is making me stress the f out. Family trying to group text all day long about holidays, friends wanting to buy flights for trips, figuring out groceries and personal errands, time with my husband. Im usually a list/planner person but even that is stressing me out. How do others handle these phases of work? I know it’s temporary but still 😵💫
How do you convince a client you add value?
Anyone here branded a hotel? How much would you charge for a flat rate to work with an agency?
Hi Fishes, I have two offers, one is 10lpa from a Indian company with regular breakout of medical insurance, basic pay, HRA, ... The second one is from a non Indian company 12lpa, but there is no break up, no pf no HRA nothing, they just credit 1l per month and I have to take care of medical insurance, pf externally, which one would be profitable salary wise?
Resume gap: My position will be abruptly end in December (was informed this week). However, I won't be interview ready in the next 2 weeks. So how bad does a gap of 1-2 months appear to tech recruiters? Common knowledge is it is a disadvantage to the candidate from a salary negotiation process. I'm also told hiring decisions at places like AWS & GCP take time and it might be a few months before an offer letter is received.
I've developed an unusual amount of distain for the rapping girl in the Virgin America safety video...
By close of eyes is not a reasonable time for any deliverable to be due. You work from home not 24/7. Let’s normalize standard working hours; if work isn’t done within eight to nine hours in day then it’s time for evaluate systems, if all those Zoom calls were necessary and staff utilization.
Have a hard time conceptualizing what it means to jump from consulting to industry. Thread for before/after picture of consulting: Role, company, salary, satisfaction, why you jumped, etc. Thanks!
I didn't get my H1B lottery this year, and am trying for a transfer to the Canada office. I will likely get a job offer soon, but the it seems like we need a minimum of 1 year work experience for an intra-company transfer. Is this correct? Are there any other options for a transfer?
EY 🐟: Anyone booked monthly parking spots in NYC? What site did you use? Do you also just expense it as "parking - in town normal commute"?
Over 40 ? Feeling unappreciated ? Creative/execution team with the creative goods needs a New Business type to hunt hospital/healthcare accounts. Full financial participation. Let’s talk.
Loved it! - New status message on EY Skype "Away - At the dollar store spending my PBB"
Anyone know of part time corporate positions that are remote? Entry level. I have a bachelors in psychology and masters in special education (not super applicable but I am intelligent and willing to learn). Current teacher looking to make a switch. I am very personable and driven.
Any recommended books, trainings, skills for transitioning from consulting to chief of staff role? The role is loosely defined but overall expect to be focused on strategic growth/ corp dev, exec / investor and all company communication, conflict resolution and the like. Also appreciate learning points from those who already transitioned to a similar role.
Currently at EY senior 3 up for promotion to manager just interviewed with Deloitte and people seem great! Salary increase is amazing… is this a good decision hmm… you guys tell me. I have no issues with EY but my salary is not what I would like it to be and when I promote I don’t think they will come close to offer from Deloitte.
Anyone interviewed with Deloitte GPS lately know how soon they inform you about interview outcome?
Tax associate here who is masochistic and thoroughly enjoys writing long-form opinions, writing memos, doing legal analysis and research, but hates deal work and churning out documents. Where is the best place for me? I assume DC boutique or national Big 4 would make sense. What about sophisticated T&E, in-house, other ideas, etc.?
I’m only 2-3 years into my career and I feel like f*cking toilet paper — just spent a week of my life busting ass/working OT on a reduced salary (thanks COVID, love ya 😘) “designing” PPT presentations for clients I’ve never met. I know that’s normal, but it would be nice to know the ppl who constantly tell you to “jazz it up”... I’m just really, really questioning what I’m doing in advertising. I feel like I have absolutely no point right now and it doesn’t seem like that’s going to change.
