Hey guys I am current senior analyst at BNY. I am transferring from Pittsburgh to NYC office (per my request.) Should I expect/ask for a raise due to the cost of living difference and how should I approach it?

New to the whole GS system and looking to enter the Administration. Could someone explain to me how the GS levels work and how to convert from private sector roles? (Or are there good resources available?) If I’m in a political role, how much room do I have for negotiation and is there any prospect of my salary growing over time?

How hard is it to get into an investment bank for risk? Doing market risk related work (FRM)? And what kind of salary would you be looking at from entry to associate (senior) level ?

For the past month, while I'm booked for 45 hrs, I'm only getting work of around 2-3 hrs from the onshore.
Should I raise this issue and if yes, to whom?
