The hiring manager didn't want to move forward with a candidate because of his gut feeling. The candidate had the experience and skills necessary but couldn't put his finger on why he didn't want move forward.

The only answer he could was that she asked if pay could be changed and asked about benefits.

Can you name a firm (preferably NY office) that lets its associates work from a different country with no issues? The mid-size firm I’m currently at has been very flexible during covid but I’m looking to change firm (biglaw). Since my family is abroad I find it extremely valuable to be able to do this (I did this even before covid for a couple of weeks, twice a year). I’ve heard firms like Latham and Paul Weiss don’t allow it for tax reasons.

Any idea why certain of the larger biglaw firms do not allow descriptive associate website bios unlike the more middle v100 firms?

Anyone feel as if it’s hard to stay with a company when you’re the only one of color? (&young) I’ve work for 3 companies in past 5 years and have yet to make meaningful colleague relationships. I just do not relate to the conversation and just find it hard to picture myself being a long-term employee. I’ve had better relationships when working at wal-mart when I was in college.
