Hey Thinktank,
I've been sitting on my savings for a while and want to put it to work for retirement savings.
Thinking of putting 70% into XGRO (global diversified ETF).
If this is for retirement (i.e. don't plan on touching it for the next 30ish years), does it matter if I throw all my savings in at once or should I be trying to DCA over next few weeks/months?
It's about 26k in total that I want to put into XGRO or some other diversified ETF.

Max out IRA/401K/Roth IRA annual contribution limits for last year and this year (you have until tax filing to do last year's contribution). Then throw remainder into a retirement date fund that auto allocates based on time to retirement. Not sexy and higher fees / potentially lower return compared to self balancing. But also no effort to maintain.

I just hit my lean fire number but am hesitating to pull the trigger, so was hoping to run it by people smarter than me:

- I have a few rentals that bring in ~$1800/mo cash flow, taxes are negligible, Capex incl.
- My paper assets will bring in ~$1200/mo at 3% draw
- I get free Healthcare at the VA
- No plans on kids
- My expenses haven't topped $30k/yr ever
- I could always reenter the workforce if needed (albeit probably not in consulting)

Please point out the flaws here, what am I missing?
