what thoughts? BTP is the way to go as per SAP’s roadmap
But with the CF runtimes you can program in several languages no? That should open the door for more options.
BTP is the way
Invested much in it?
SAP’s endorsement of BTP is mixed. They need to compete with ServiceNow and this is a means to do it, but they are resistant to formally customize extensions to their SaaS platforms. There is a ton of capability in BTP, but the future of it is cloudy at best.
Old wine in a new bottle.
Buzzword for now.
I haven’t had an opportunity to work on it yet
I’m talking about BTP scenarios where you build a UI on top of BTP to expose data from inside your intranet to an external application.
Don’t see it happening, have been hearing on maturing for last 8 years but still so much gaps and never seen an automatic platform choice by any client, rather forced to. I would rather have SAP focus on application side which they are best at and leave the development platform part to hyperscalers.
Right but don’t you think that is what SAP is addressing with BTP? They have SAP BTP in the cloud foundry environment that allows companies to use any hyperscaler and with this environment it gives more options for developers in terms of extensibility and integration.
Has some of your previous projects involved btp? Curious to know how the adoption was..
