Remind 101! Parents can get this app on their phone and it’s such a great tool for instant messaging. As teachers, we can set hours that won’t allow us to get messages until the next day so that we won’t have parent messaging really late at night. I have mine set from 7am-7pm.
I have used Dojo successfully, but as a school we’ve been using Bloomz. I love Bloomz for scheduling conferences and parent direct communication. I haven’t used the behavior piece like I did with Class Dojo, though. I thought about using both but it’s an awful lot to keep up with. How does Seesaw work?
Seesaw is an interactive type of tool that keeps track of student progress and evidence of learning. Students can record themselves reading and post it to a learning portfolio and own their growth! Check out their website!
I've used both ClassDojo and Seesaw and I really liked Seesaw, especially when you have an Ipad/tablet to use to take pictures and post to the portfolios as evidence!
Class dojo is my go to. They are also incorporating ways for students to have a portfolio much like Seesaw. It's good for behavior reports but also beware that some parents will question every single dojo point!
Our District uses Seesaw for Schools K-2. Parents really like it. I post almost daily and my k students post as well
I have used Class Dojo the last couple of years. The parents and students really like it. It is designed for K-3.
I’ve used class dojo the last 2 years and the parent communication piece has been great. Also positive feedback from parents.
I love dojo. I snap pictures sof importqnt notes. I tàke pictures of the kids doing fun things and send it to them. They love seeing what their kids are doing. I only use behavior at the beginning of the year. Once they learn the routine i dojo individual parents with concerns.
We use Seesaw. They have a lot of activities, but it’s also really easy to make your own. My kids love recording themselves and things they’ve made. They can also comment on each other’s posts. You approve posts, which can be a bit time-consuming, but it’s great for keeping things school appropriate.
