Merck hiring process

Anyone have any insite om Merck hiring process. I had an interview with a job recruiter, than a hiring manager, several interviews and a panel interview. The people I talked to were great. I think I did ok. About a week ago I got a notification for more info on salary and noncompete information. Tomorrow will be a week and workday still says in process. Is it a lost cause at this point?

Colleague gets a job at Foley & Lardner and is told months after starting that he needs to bill 200 more hours for his practice group than what the firm requires. He wasn't told during interviews. He barely made the time. I now may have the opportunity to lateral and I'm worried that may happen to me (different practice group). How do I ask? And, is this common at @foleyandlardner?
