The problem here is because Finance jobs requires exceptional skills and academics due to which he is not able to get shortlisted for most job interview screening, he is receiving interview calls from great companies but not able to convert them.

24 yo looking for advice! Within the next few years I’d like to exit to industry but also live in Korea for ~1 year. Playing around with two options:

1. Quit job, study abroad, then find an industry job

2. Secure job at an international company, quit my job, try to transfer to korea office

I’d prefer option 1 but my biggest concern is it will be more difficult to find a job while unemployed (ie after study abroad). Nervous about how 1 year unemployed will impact future job prospects...

Why are firms not cutting pay for the bay area/NY types that move to lower cost cities? Why are they not giving raises to the people who already lived in those lower cost cities? Assume same rank, project and bill rate. This is happening more than you think!

So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. One of my friend who is a doctor & is an international med graduate. He passed his United States Medical Licensing Exams with above average scores. He has applied fr the match last yr & was nt able to match. Match process costs around USD10k; this year he is applying again after borrowing funds frm different sources bt he is under tremendous pressure to get match.
