I'd like to educate myself and finally start investing. I'm 33 and have only cash. What's the best book/resource would you recommend to help me understand the basics and make a good move ?
Good books or online sources to learn investing?
Does anyone have a good practical guide / book on getting started with small multi family real estate investing? I’m in Canada and am looking to avoid hype books to get to the practical need to know details. I have between 250-350k to invest and looking to scale as quickly as possible.
Anyone have any book recommendations for real estate investing? There’s a lot of crap out there. Looking for a more serious book for someone who already understands finance and real estate basics.

I’ve been listening to “millionaires unveiled” (highly recommend for FIRE content) and it seems like every other guest ends up doing real estate investing. If you do it, what books or online courses would you recommend to get started? If you have experience in real estate investing, would you ultimately recommend it?
To con't the conversation on engagement rings💍 - what do they symbolize to you? My BF and I got into a discussion about this last night. He views them as an investment and an "asset" on the books for his future family. He also has grandparents who had to finance their trip to America by selling their jewels. I see the ring as more of a gift to the future bride that is an expense that can be sold for money if needed, but isn't an investment. I'm fine w/ lab grown, he is not. Thoughts?

What are the best investment books or authors for beginners? What are the best podcasts, YouTube channels or bloggers to follow? What are your favorite stock trading platforms? And if you finally have six figures cash ready to invest, what's the best place to start? Which broker / financial advisor would you recommend? This is only for 3-5 years to ultimately buy a decent home for my family. I'm clearly a dummy so any help is greatly appreciated.

Hey folks, I’m about a year into my new SE career and looking to continue to invest in professional skills. I’ve obviously been thrown into the fire learning the sales side of things, but what areas (technical skills, certs, books, etc.) you all would recommend I look to invest in? I’ve been looking at some beginner coding boot camps and scrum product owner certs, but interested in what you all have done to further advance your career
Any good non-fiction book recommendations? Some finance ones that I’ve loved are Black Edge, Billion Dollar Whale and Bad Blood.

The number of apps/utility tools we’re using is ridiculous. I probably spend an hour of my day just reading Basecamp 2, Basecamp 3, Wrike, Microsoft Teams, and slack notifications

Lesson plans. What do yours look like? I feel like it’s a waste of time to rewrite what I’m doing from the actual lessons. I mean aren’t the learning targets, success criteria, and formative and summarize assessments built right in?
Can anyone tell me if there is Christmas holiday of 1 week in EY GDS for all employees? I'll be joining soon and I'm planning for a Christmas vacation.
Why would a consultant in MBB switch to another MBB? Particularly between Mck and BCG. Outside looking in, they seem identical in experience and opps.
I lost my father a few months ago and I’m not coping well. Has anyone used an employee assistance program for this? Should I just seek a counselor privately?

Anyone else getting hit up by Charles Aris about the GLG strategy role? I know at least 10 people at my firm that had a call with them but they're being super squirrelly about the details.

My PwC team is hiring experienced and senior associates with ANY technical experience. Bonus if your certifications and skill sets relate to “Emerging Technologies” (any coding, cloud, machine learning, artificial intelligence, etc.). Send a DM if you’re interested!
Does anyone else find it difficult to ask for time off? I haven’t taken a “vacation day” since February, billed 185+ hour months consistently through the pandemic (exceeded hours for 2020 bonus eligibility), and am feeling pretty burnt out. It’s hard because other associates in my department haven’t really taken any time off either (or it has been a day or two sporadically). Would really love to take some days over Christmas to recharge but I’m nervous about perception.
