I am currently a Marketing Specialist and I am trying to switch fields into UX.

Currently I am wrapping up the Google UX Certificate Program on Coursera. I'm searching for "junior ux designer" positions, hopefully, to get some further on the job training. I'm not confident on my qualification to apply to UX jobs in general at the moment...

Any advice on what else I can do to prepare for this career switch?

Do we get a timely exit in PwC SDC in 15 days during probation period? or does it depend or our manager?

note - I’m yet to join the company, just want to know if it’s a smooth exit or they can keep us as long as they want?

Anyone out there have advice on finding the right position for you? A job can sound one way on paper, but you don’t know what the worst day in that role will feel like. Additionally, how would you go about finding more hidden/obscure titles that could possibly be the best match?

Is Wall Street prep worth it to help break into IB?

Hello everyone I have 29 years as a dental professional in Texas. I started as a dental assistant back in 1993. As my career progressed as a RDA, I moved to the front office and eventually management. I even taught dental assistants and became the Program Director of a DA program. Is it normal for a Product Owner to lay out specs for how a feature should work?

I thought that was my job as the ux designer to figure out the best way to solve a need. But I’m getting handed projects where the PO, and sometimes the senior designer has laid out exactly what should happen (components used, flow, etc) to design a feature. It’s really frustrating because I don’t know if I’m supposed to be speaking up on what I think or just do the UI work I’m asked to.

I’m doing my first UX portfolio on Wix. I have the case studies content drafted out, but I’m struggling with brainstorming wireframes/actual UI for my case studies. I make it a rule to look for dribbble/behance for inspo but only sketch when im not looking at things because I don’t want to copy directly.
