Hi all,

I have a question, after a long break i am trying to get back in workforce, now after searching and getting rejected for months i finally got a part time job which i am going to start in a week. Today i got a mail from another company offering full time job with all benefits. I am in dilemma now, should i reject full time job offer and continue with part time or should i accept full time job and inform previous employer that i have full time opportunity. Help me please.

My opinion - go with the FT position. You would have to be crazy to accept PT job...unless you REALLY love that company. No-brainer. Congrats and good luck.

Thank you so much!

If the one job is FT and includes benefits you really have no choice but to take it. I would just advise you to be sure it's a legitimate offer, and make sure everything is finalized before informing the part-time job that you are passing on it. It's an awkward situation, but you have to do what's best for yourself. Congratulations on the new job!

like

Yes, be sure it is legit before walking away from the part time.

Take the full-time job with benefits. Anything can happen and you will be glad you got the benefits. Take care of you first. They should understand. If they don't, hold your head high. Wait until you know you have the job before you tell your current employer.

like

At the end of the day, it's all about you. I'll suggest the FT job with full benefits since that's sustainable.

Look, if you need the full time then that's your option. If you just want to start up slowly then part time is the job for you...Just remember that the "NO BRAINER" IS WHICH JOB FITS YOUR MONTHLY SPENDING FOR YOU AND THE FAMILY OR PET...WHICHBIS GONNA COVER YOUR BILLS AND MAYBE LEAVE YOU SOMETHING ELSE TO PLAY WITH IF YOUR KIDS AINT GET IT FIRST....YEAH THATS THE NO BRAINER....HOPE I WAS USEFUL

Thank you Ray!

What did you end up doing?

Oh I would take the FT position with benefits for sure! Just tell the other employer that you got a FT offer and you need the benefits if that’s what you want!

Looking for another remote position

Hi- I’m an hourly AA, been on the role for 6 months now and it’s my first AA job. I did not get a raise when I took the job because it was technically a demotion ( I was a team leader at a contact center). I assist two VPs and now they want to add a third because they’re looking for the “ 3:1 ratio “. Should I ask for a raise? Is this normal? I know another AA that handles 3+ people but idk if she’s hourly or salary. Any thoughts?
