I’m at a career crossroads and need advice. I’ve been a Strategy Consultant (2-4 yrs, not MBB), fast-tracked to promotion, but lately, I feel stagnant and unmotivated. I have an offer for a Business Development Manager role at a no fancy name but large tech company (15% salary bump, strategic work, but lacks business mentors for career growth). Staying in consulting might mean a promotion (30% bump), but I’m unhappy. The tech role excites me but feels risky. Anyone faced similar? Help!

I got an offer with TCS and initially selected joining date as Jan 2.. but current org released me in 1 month instead of 3 months.. I asked TCS HR and others for early Onboarding but they didn't respond well..

Happened to me with Mindtree recruiter, for an IoT leadership position where the interviewing VP chose to no show twice… after which I thanked the recruiter that I was impressed by their book of busi-ness and that it was intimidating to be thinking about the prospect of working for Mindtree… as I’m too incapable for those performance standards… 😂😂

I've become really jaded about consulting. I find all so often you need to tell the client what they want to hear to keep their business and I feel like so much of the what I recommend doesn't actually get implemented. I'm looking to make a career switch so I can both create and execute on my strategies. A product management path seems very promising for this.

Does anyone who switched from consulting to product management have any recommendations of h helpful PM books, courses, or programs?
