I’m 25 (male) with collectively 4 years of accounting experience. I have a masters in data analytics and am working in manufacturing. I am also working towards a CPA. I make 67k base with possible year un bonuses. (<3k)

How do I ask for match pay/ offer? I’m applying for a new role and a former colleague of mine who used to work with me in my current role, was offered more. Granted, I understand it’s based on work experience, but after having in depth conversations with other employers, I feel like I should be paid the same. How would I say this without coming off rude and jeopardizing my ability to accept the offer? I really want to negotiate pay since I was not able to negotiate pay in my current role

About to start a new job (in PE) next Monday. I came down with Covid on the Thurs before and am very fevered and feeling like crap/ haven’t left bed.
