Hi everyone! I suck at doing board meeting minutes! Any tips on being successful at them? I’m using the recorded meeting to take the minutes.

I used to record minutes but found that I'm a poor transcriber. It took me forever. Instead, I created a template for Topic/Discussion/Action, and took manual notes. Then I typed them up quickly afterward so that I remembered it all.

Lucky! I worked for the COO of a medical group for their board meeting and two other 80+ attendee meetings. Two people, my boss included, could always be counted on for late submission or rearranging the agenda after I had packets made.

Use Otter AI for automated transcriptions. It’s a little rough but helps a lot.

I record the meeting and transcribe it manually. It's a great help if you already have a format and the agenda of the meeting.

I’m hoping someone might have some ideas about this- I’m currently five years out of law school with a clerkship, a tax LLM, 3 years of experience doing transactional tax work and a few months of EC/VC experience (which I recently switched to from tax). I like the EC/VC work, but I don’t know how long I want to stay in biglaw. Can anyone weigh in on how employers for in-house roles might look at my experience in a year or two?

Bain is hiring for EA and MA roles in The US. If you’re serious about applying please reach out I’m happy to refer qualified candidates.

manager assistants are 100 percent remote while executive assistant roles are expected to be mapped to a local office. MAs support six senior managers or associate partners while EAs support 3 partners. MAs should have 1-3 years experience to apply and EAs should have 3-5 or more.

Hello, after doing some research I believe I’m being underpaid. About 4 months ago HR did a market analysis for my role. They bumped my salary for about $2k. I’m a mid-level Executive assistant with 6 years of experience and currently supporting 5 executives at a fortune 50 company. One C level and 4 Vice Presidents. I’m currently making $61,000 with bonus included. Based on my research I should at least be making $71,400. I have a check in with my boss tomorrow and I am asking for a raise.
