Was a consultant there 3 years so I saw almost every department and multiple business units. It's the kind of place that is nearly impossible to get fired from, no decisions get made, and it's highly unlikely you'll ever be held accountable. 9/80 schedule, good pay, the definition of cushy job and life. Go for it but go in not caring too much or you'll be disappointed
Thanks for your insight!
Not recommended right now unless this is your only opportunity, large scale layoffs underway and they are shifting away from America workers to places like India and Manilla.
Jobs are getting heavily offshored- roles from management down to lower levels. In addition, there are major layoffs going on. Search Chevron layoffs so you know what you’re getting yourself into. Layoffs will happen for the next 3 years.
All the comments about layoffs etc are correct. Chevron was everything the first commenter said three years ago possibly but not anymore. The atmosphere changed radically and rapidly when the company stock started performing poorly as benchmarked against its peers, the other oil majors. Jobs are being offshored and job security has declined significantly. Morale is poor.
