Hi everyone — I’m in the middle of a career pivot and would appreciate some perspective.

My background is in customer service and client success, but I consistently took on training, onboarding, and documentation work with the goal of moving into more internal, lower-stress roles.

I’m now looking for work that’s calmer, structured, and sustainable — such as training, onboarding, or HR operations–adjacent roles — and would welcome advice from anyone who’s made a similar shift.

Hi! I pivoted from being a client-facing CPA to a trainer to the L&D Lead for my firm. If you are at a company with a training team, talk to them! You never know when they are looking to expand and you are more valuable at your current company than you would be elsewhere. I’ve now been in my role long enough to have transferable skills, but never could have afforded the career change if I had to start from scratch.

People joining TCS at Senior Consultant designation with 12 years exp, with no MBA degree or even from with exceptional experience in niche technologies is truth these days.

Existing employees with 20 years exp working on presales consulting, winning millions of dollars of projects in RFPs, delivering multi million dollar assignments are still not getting promoted and paid in peanuts

Makes me wonder if companies are really enjoying so called great resignation period. What's the thought ?

Why is education deemed more valuable on a pay scale than experience? Employers will pay someone with a degree and no experience a greater salary, than someone who has exhibited the experience. I’m hoping a better written resume will help target algorithms to get my resume viewed for other roles.
