Buy it here. The diamonds 💎 are so much cheaper
Get design ideas from the US jewelry shops and get them custom made in India. You will end up saving a lot!!
May sound stingy but my personal experience is to buy a diamond ring in India coz the price in mumbai atleast for a VVS ring in a decent jeweler for (don’t know the carat weight) is around Rs 80k but in US for the same carat weight for a VS/VVS ring you will shell out atleast $5-6k
Also you won’t get certificates in US unless you take a branded one like forever mark
India... no comparison. Been there done that.
I bought it here in Jared's.
Thanks 🐠 Mixed opinions so far. I will do some more due diligence. Any recommendations for jewelers in NYC and Mumbai?
If you want better quality and authenticity, I would recommend buying in India. Mumbai is one of the diamond export hub, find a good jeweler you can trust and ask for a certified diamond.

OP - tbz , manubhai is where I bought it for my wedding in feb. tbz in town and manubhai in borivili. Check out popley in bandra but they would be a bit costly.
If going for gold jewelry do check if a particular jeweler has discount on making charges , it will save you lots.
TBZ usually has discounts on making charges
Have you heard of lad diamonds? Check that out before investing heavily in regular ones
As any consultant would do.. get familiar with the topic at hand.
1. Learn about the 4Cs of the diamond.. what you’ll find is that India has better pricing for higher clarity diamonds vs. the us..
- India is good for more custom type rings. They can pretty much make what you want for a lower price with a VVS Stone :)
- US is good because you can go to the store for sizing, cleaning etc.. also if u have any minor issues you can go to a store (assume you live here)
Check out the rings here and then get sense of the cost.. don’t just compare the Carat Weight.. look at the clarity, cut and the color.
Ask away if you have any other questions

@BCG1 - Thanks! I am comfortable with being able to select the right stone and setting. Looking for inputs on where might I get better bang for my buck - India or US. Personally, I am fine with VS and would not pay premium for VVS or higher. Also, I have selected a simple setting and don’t necessarily need custom design. Just trying to get a sense of the price differential from group as it is difficult to remotely validate the prices in India
Ah got it.. for VS with basic design, you can probably get more for your $ in the US!
Have been there in past and found the hard way. VVS Clarity & Color - G/H is worth your buck.
