I had interviewed for Cognizant and I was asked to submit my documents for offer letter release. This happened on the same day as my interview(Friday 6th May). I submitted my documents and I am trying to contact the HR who scheduled my interview, but she is not picking up my call. My question is how soon can I expect the offer letter to be released? And is there a possibility that they can reject my profile at this stage?

I’m in big law and on the cusp of making the jump to in-house. It sounds like the company I just interviewed with is getting ready to make me an offer. It’s definitely going to be a pay cut coming from big law but I do get some nice equity in the company. Is the jump worth it? I’m so burnt out by big law and this seems like an awesome opportunity to help shape a newish company. Any tips on how to figure out if this is the right move for me?

I would just like to take this time to tell everyone that no matter what your role is, or who you work for.. that we work to live, we don't live to work.

I understand that statement has some degree of privilege.

However when things are all said and done, a lot of us won't be worried about the extra dollars we made or an additional title we got, but what we were able to do with the time we had.

I'm looking for recommendations of Black finance podcasts, influencers, bloggers, or people in the industry you feel are worth learning from. Very new, and I want to spend time learning as much as I can in my (limited) downtime. TIA

One of my friends has been given a choice, to work with an extremely outrageous target or to leave the firm. If he chooses to stay, he will be bound to serve a total time of 6 months. And if he refuses, tomorrow will be his last day, what can I suggest to him?

Anybody have to take time off for long-covid? How has your HR handled it? I feel like any info I have gotten on FMLA and disability is because I’ve brought it up and have had to follow up multiple times.

Hey! I’m new here and would like some input. I’ve been working in a new position for almost 5 months. In that time I’ve witnessed some unethical and lots of unprofessional behavior. I’ve been yelled at and berated by my coworker 3 separate times because of minor errors. I’m ready to quit. Help,I started a new career n the events industry and I think I have to quit! The person I report to is so disorganized and there are no other managers in the office to direct day to day operations of our department. On day 2 I was asked to go to a job site and perform a 12 hour day without any training, safety equipment or tools. On day 3 I was asked back to site to do general labor! Has anyone else had a mentor (assigned to them by the Company) who seemed to have it out for you? I mean downright sabotage to make you look bad left and right. I didn’t realize it at first. She was fake friendly, but she was discrete too. Some of the executives thought she was amazing, but I had to clean up her work all the time. She wasn’t above me either on the chain of command. Later I found out she had tried for the exec assistant role and they didn’t choose her, they wanted me instead.
