Is a 900k net worth for a single person at almost 40 good or terrible? I see posts from our US counterparts on net worth and salary and feel so behind yet we have such a high COL in Toronto.

Hey there! really need a change in pace from being in higher levels of care, and am wanting to go part-time with my company and private practice, but I want to buy a house in the next year and am worried about finances. Can anyone speak to the hardships or successes or a counseling of practice and/or buying a home shortly after starting one? I feel trapped in my current job because I’m worried the timing isn’t right.

I’m not bad with money but definitely lots of room to improve overall, due to several personal factors I don’t want to list in full here (numerous unanticipated medical bills, bad boyfriends, etc.) Hence why I only have $3k in savings right now. I got the impression this was a small but fast growing team on the west coast, and the work sounds like a combination of product, agile delivery, and roadmap dev.
