I'm in my mid twenties, with moderate risk taking capacity. I was mainly focusing on creating an emergency fund as of now. Now, I would like to start with diversified investment.

Have 50k in a checking account at a local bank getting no returns. I have a LOT of credit card debt. It has just grown over time and I can’t find my way out. I’m considering debt consolidation, specifically a company called National Debt Relief which seems legit but I’m just so hesitant because I’m scared to make my situation worse. How hard is everyone pushing their corporate clients to authorize nonresident assignees whose only 2020 US compensation was the value of their 2019 tax preparation?
My clients are pushing back on it this year, and I can't say I blame them. If I were in their shoes, I'd rather take the risk of not filing than the expense of filing again. From my own point of view, I don't really want to spend my time on such returns, either, even if the revenue and easy return are nice.

RANT: People re-writing a cw’s stuff has always been painful. These days it’s far more common than when I started. It’d be one thing if they upgraded the work. If I learned from it. If I genuinely seethed with envy over their wit w/that perfectly placed semi-colon. People can’t re-art direct stuff bc they don’t know the programs so they ask the ADs for changes. Word and a keyboard made everyone think they can write. Which they can’t. Google Slides is Google slip ‘n slide into (bad ref. here.)

I think I bombed my final round today. Was taken a bit aback with a pure focus on numbers so took a bit of time solving it and in the end interviewer skipped one part of a chart cos she had to move on to other charts. The qualitative case part went well I think. Disappointed in myself!

Most of us saw increase in our pay checks earlier this year, mainly due to resignation wave. Given how easy it is to spend money these days, have you guys noticed any changes in your spending habits? Have you started overspending or you are still mindful about day to day purchases?

I was doing my own investment research when I came across multiple financial management websites suggesting really bad mutual funds.

Current FD RD rate is between 5.5% to 6.5% for 12 to 18 months. These websites are suggesting "better alternatives" of mutual funds with return rate of 3-4% for the same duration.

If this is the case of misinformation for these simple investment tools, we can't imagine how much misinformation is there for more complicated options

Question regarding tax saving -
I had bought medical insurance for my my parents and I on 17 Feb 2022 with 38K premium. Can I add this deduction in FY22-23 tax declaration.
PS - I have to show proof of payment by Jan 2023 and the next premium won't be paid before Feb. So how do I use this insurance for tax savings?
