I am currently in the recruitment process at Alvarez & Marsal in the Paris office. I am about to be promoted Manager in my current firm and I have several considerations:
- What would be my potential grade level at A&M with c.5 YOE? (I guess Associate right?)
- Would it be worth being promoted Manager prior to joining A&M or would it have a low-impact on the job proposal?
- How would you compare A&M with Tier 2 firms in France?

Mental Health, inherited or choice? I am finding myself struggling with processing that ADD, Depression, or Bipolar is a chemical imbalance in the brain vs. behavioral therapy. Girlfriend has very obvious high functioning anxiety and body image issues that she admits but thinks she doesn’t need therapy or medication and that reading self-help books will help her. I was just informed after the third round of interviews they’d like at least 5 references, two must be supervisors. Hi, I am an expat living in France and working as an IT consultant. I got an experience here that recruiters insist on disclosing my current salary. Is it a norm in France? Do you reply how much you earn? To me it seems absolutely inappropriate and irrelevant. I can respond what are my future salary expectations. I refuse to tell how much I make now, and then recruiters say that they can't proceed with my application without this information. WDYT?
