I resigned from TCS in August and in another 18 days it's my LWD with TCS, now i got call from my lead saying they will provide canada onsite opportunity and he said he has multiple projects at onsite which he can give me, some are saying it's just a gimmick to retain you nothing else, my DM asked me to say yes or no by tomorrow so that he can start the process he said once i get approval mail then only i can take back my resignation. It's not right to judge. Expenses are different for different people. You are 14 yoe , he is 19 with 2 grown up kids.
If your wife can work in USA then please go.

Do you have kids?
It will be difficult to suggest an appropriate salary since your expenses are not simple to calculate. You have to check the city which you are moving into and calculate your expenses.
If you are ready to adjust, anything above 100k should be good enough to begin then you can switch and progress your career.
Many people go on h1b with salary less than 100k. Then later move to another company..
Apart from salary You need to consider other aspects also like growth in career, work life balance,quality of life etc
Current company and offering company in usa?
Since you have 2 kids going to school, you will have to do the calculations on education fees as well. Apart from education, their caring if your Wife is going to work there as well on dependent visa. In india, you might be living with some guardian to take care of them or you may have some maid to cook food, clean and house help chores. But it will be totally different on usa. Do your calculations for all possible angles-social impact, family impact, impact on kids ,taxation and savings. It's your research only.
