I work as an account manager for a company in Europe which has been acquired by a very large American company and they are making some changes.

Biggest one yet is that they are considering removing fixed pay for variable pay [not base + bonuses but the entire gross amount is variable based on KPI attainment]. Not much information was provided as it is not in effect yet but in consideration for 2026 at some point (but it will).

Should I Go Back and Reneg? Recently I was offered a role as a Project Implementation Manager (In Retirement Services) .The salary range for Colorado residents was 65-89K. I’m located in NY so the recruiter said he would try to get me more. Got offered 68k after 2 years as a contractor (62.5k) doing project management/business admin in a tech department at a Fortune 500 bank. I have an A.S degree and working on my bachelor’s/masters may 2024. I negotiated to 84k NYC. I have seen interns get offered 38 per hour (79k) for internship positions with a similar role.

Thoughts? Should I go higher? I do my job well that’s why they decided to keep me as a contractor after my internship.
