Happy to provide my story on the other side. Spent two years at Accenture under Technology mostly working on business analysis for implementations and PMO.

Left for Facebook for a role in strategic analytics in BizOps with 180k TC.

Few tips for looking at exits:

1) Referrals are a huge tool for getting your foot in the door. At Facebook it guarantees that atleast your resume is given more than a glance.

2) A well constructed story/resume can offset any weak points in your experience

What would you prefer:

Job 1: 85k at small boutique firm (3 attorneys). Standard benefits but no 401k. Semi-annual raises. No billable hour requirement and regular 40 hour week. Being groomed to be a partner on a 2-3 year track.

Job 2: 135k at large regional firm (200 attorneys) good benefits. 1900 billable hours requirement. Partner track is 6-8 years but not guaranteed.

Both located in a MCOL area

Any advice for someone looking to transition into a full HR Generalist role from Recruiting. I’m currently a Campus Recruiter with about 5 years of HR experience (Coordinator- Higher Ed). Looking to switch from tech in investment bank to Consulting in big 4. Majored in CS in bachelor's, no masters degree so no business background except for working in a bank for a year. Any tips with the transition? Do big 4 have a hiring timeline? What entry level position would I need to apply for since I'm not straight after grad?

I've become really jaded about consulting. I find all so often you need to tell the client what they want to hear to keep their business and I feel like so much of the what I recommend doesn't actually get implemented.
