Best advice is to get married. Job search will be far easier.
Brit that lives in Atlanta here - you’ll need to either get a fiancé visa, get married or get a US company to sponsor you for an H1B visa.
H1Bs are given out on a lottery basis and have an annual cap - which is already gone for the next year I think
Get married - easiest way (for getting a job at least😀👍)
OP - you might be eligible for an L1 visa if you get a transfer - that’s an intra company visa and no cap like the H1B.
It also expedites getting a green card by a lot
Do that if you can.
Yeah, just get married. Even if you're not sure about it right now. My best friends brother literally did a Vegas wedding. They got married for real and announced it this year. So they dated post-Vegas for roughly 4 years. No one knew they were married for that time period except their closest family - and me because I happened to recommend the immigration attorney they hired. Vegas was just them being silly about it though, you can just get it done in a local courthouse. This'll give you the best flexibility around finding a job and controlling your career. Also frankly the least stressful route for both of you.

How did y’all meet? I think this is so cute.
A friend introduced us and since then, it’s been an expensive relationship - a lot of travelling but it’s all worth it!
I am moving from Japan to the US with my non American husband and I am also wondering what is the fastest way to go to the US with him. Most people in the comments say gt married, but what does that mean? If we are married we can just enter the country and stay?
There is a spouse visa that you need to apply for. This can take quite a few months depending on the embassy. Once approved, he would enter the US with that visa. Upon arrival he has resident status and effectively has a green card (physical one is mailed later, but he would have perm resident status and can work as soon as he touches down).
Green card lasts for like 10 years or something super long. It can be renewed if he doesn’t have citizenship by then.
