Hey guys. I have a technical interview with AlixPartners restructuring and turnaround team. This is for their summer intern position. I didn’t come from a restructuring background. YOE: 11.5 Tech: QA Automation with Selenium-Java, BDD, API automation, Mobile Automation - Perfecto cloud, Appium. All the 11 years I am with automation only. Is it possible for me to learn new technology and switch. Recently acquired AWS cloud practitioner certification which is of no use to me now as they are asking for exp. I wanted to move to devops role. But without experience no one is giving opportunity and they are considering my profile as QA only 😒

Industry vets - in your experience how recession proof is insurance? I was not yet in the job market last recession but I watched my mom get laid off and struggle to find employment during that time for the next 1.5 years. I was wanting to hit the job market towards the end of this year, but now I worry that if I do move companies, the recession could put me in position of last one hired first one fired. I received an offer for 80k to work as a desktop engineer for TCS at one of their client’s locations. However, I have seen poor reviews for working at TCS and I’d like to get some feedback from anyone currently or had previously worked for that company. I started in big law M&A 8 months ago and I’m super miserable. I don’t love the work or the stress/anxiety that comes with deal work. I also feel like I’m not picking up on it as fast as my peers/able to juggle as many deals at once as the firm would like. I’m thinking about making a switch to in house work, preferably commercial contact work. Seems like the hours and stress would be more manageable in that type of role. Any advice or insight?
